dd, dvd, iso, and ?

from disk:

dd if=/dev/dvd of=dvd.iso # for dvd
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=cd.iso # for cdrom
dd if=/dev/scd0 of=cd.iso # if cdrom is scsi

(find device with ‘wodim –devices’ or ‘wodim -scanbus’)

from files:

mkisofs -o /tmp/cd.iso /tmp/directory/
mkisofs -J -o /tmp/dvd1.iso /tmp/directory/

burn cd:

sudo apt-get install cdrecord

cdrecord -scanbus -dev=help
cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrom -speed=4 -v cd.iso
or
cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrom -overburn -speed=4 -v cd.iso

Is this poisonous:

Disk type:   Short strategy type (Phthalocyanine or similar)

burn dvd:

growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/hda=/tmp/dvd1.iso
growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvdrw=/tmp/dvd1.iso

or

apt-get install portmap

apt-get install mkisofs dvd+rw-tools

mount -t nfs 10.0.0.xx:/remotefolder folder

mkisofs -v -v -r -J -o dvd.iso folder

umount folder

growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/hda=dvd.iso

eject /dev/hda

Speed?

growisofs -speed=2 …

use:

dvd+rw-mediainfo /dev/sr0  (or /dev/cdrom, etc) for disc info:
